About diagnosticx
diagnosticx is a rapid, non-invasive, point-of-care diagnostic platform developed by SIMED Global, a UK-based medical technology company headquartered in Liverpool. Our flagship product, the Diagno device, delivers a clinically actionable result in just 50 seconds using a saliva sample — no blood draw, no laboratory, no waiting days for results.
The platform is built for clinicians, healthcare systems, and communities that need fast, accurate answers at the time of consultation. Whether in a GP surgery, an emergency department, a remote clinic, or a community screening programme, the Diagno device brings diagnostic clarity directly to the patient.
Our core focus is solving one of medicine's most enduring challenges: accurately distinguishing between viral and bacterial infections. Overprescription of antibiotics drives antimicrobial resistance (AMR), a global health crisis causing hundreds of thousands of deaths every year. By enabling clinicians to differentiate infection types instantly and non-invasively, diagnosticx helps reduce unnecessary antibiotic use, cut adverse event costs, and protect patients from avoidable harm.
The Diagno device is a platform technology. Beyond viral vs bacterial differentiation, the roadmap includes detection panels for Tuberculosis (TB), Bovine TB, and a broad range of infectious diseases — all from the same compact, portable device. This makes diagnosticx uniquely scalable: one device, many conditions, deployable anywhere.
SIMED Global was founded by a team with deep expertise in diagnostics, biochemistry, clinical medicine, and commercialisation. The company is a proud member of BIVDA (British In Vitro Diagnostics Association) and collaborates with leading scientific research institutions to validate and develop its technology.
Our mission is simple: to give clinicians the information they need, when they need it, to make better decisions for their patients — and in doing so, to reduce the cost burden on healthcare systems worldwide.
